For us, it feels like there is so much happening in the new year, and we know that everyone has their own list of hopes for the year ahead. We decided to base our first group challenge of 2021 on these hopes, giving our artists a moment to reflect, imagine, and spark creativity.
The parameters this time were very simple: design an original glass piece to reflect our theme in an 8×8″ format. Artists used traditional stained glass, mosaic, mixed-media mosaic, and kiln-formed techniques. Designs were submitted both in person and online, from as far away as Ontario, Canada. Ironically, we received a total of 21 entries!
Below are images of the submitted works. Aside from our traditional in-person gathering and celebration, we welcome you to vote online for the “People’s Choice” award. The winner will receive a gift card to the shop (staff entries are not eligible). We invite you to visit our gallery through January 3, 2021. (You always appreciate the details more in person!)
